Schools Back, Summer is almost gone...

We are suspending classes until October. Oops, I did it again! I am currently in rehearsals for the "Front Porch" which will be on stage at the Opera House the second week of October. I will pass on more details in next month's newsletter.

Congrats to Jana Crosby, LMT. She has taken the leap to becoming a full time therapist. We admire her and praise her for her hard work this past year. She has some loyal clients and she too she very loyal and caring to them. If you haven't been to us in awhile, give Jana a try. You love her work!

In today's world the internet is becoming more and more vital. It certainly has been key to our success and we work hard to stay up with all the trends and flow of the electronic superhighway. You have helped us grow by telling your friends. Visitors and newcomers to town put a lot of stock in reviews of restaurants, store, even movies. The same is true of our business. If you want to help us grow and earn free massage upgrades of either a doTerra Aromatouch or a 30 minute add-on to your massage, then tell people about your positive experience with us at Yahoo local: Google Places and be sure follow our business page on Facebook

Our success this past year is because of you and we thank you!

Water, Water everywhere....

Water, is the most essential element, next to air, to our survival. Water truly is everywhere, still most take it for granted. Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, we would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in the body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen.

Water is important to the mechanics of the human body. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without gas and oil. In fact, all the cell and organ functions made up in our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water for their functioning.

Water serves as a lubricant

Water forms the base for saliva

Water forms the fluids that surround the joints.

Water regulates the body temperature, as the cooling and heating is distributed through perspiration.

Water helps to alleviate constipation by moving food through the intestinal tract and thereby eliminating waste- the best detox agent.

Regulates metabolism

How Much Water does the Body Need? A good estimate is to take the body weight in pounds and divide that number in half. That gives you the number of ounces of water per day that the client needs to drink. For example, if the client weighs 150 pounds, he/she should drink at least 75 ounces of water per day. If they exercise, they should drink another eight ounce glass of water for every 20 minutes they are active. If they drink alcohol, they should drink at least an equal amount of water.

At least twenty percent of the water the body needs will come from the foods it consumes. The rest will come from the beverages it takes in. Water is the best choice, the body knows to process water straight into the cells of the body without secreting enzymes and acids needed for chemically breaking down everything else that goes down the gullet; Fluids such as sweetened soft drinks and sodas have added corn syrup that adds extra calories and may contain caffeine. Sports drinks contain electrolytes and may be beneficial; just look out for added sugar and calories that may not be wanted. Fruit and vegetable juice are a good food because they have vitamins and nutrients but may not do much to keep you hydrated (read labels, however -- vegetable juices may be high in sodium). Waters that have flavoring, will be treated and processed in the body as a food with one exception; Citrus! Lemon or lime do not trigger enzymes for digestion probably because of there acidic content, so that these fluids are processed as water and go straight into the cells of the body.
